3.1. Opening the Device

3.2. Rope Insertion
Insert the rope into the device, ensuring the climber's side of the rope is on the side marked with the climber icon, and the brake-side hand is on the side marked with the hand icon. The rope should pass through the cam mechanism as indicated by the diagrams on the device.

3.3. Closing the Device and Attaching to Harness
Close the side plate securely. Attach the GRIGRI+ to your harness using a locking carabiner, ensuring the carabiner is properly locked. The device should be oriented correctly on your harness, with the climber's rope leading upwards and the brake-side rope downwards.

4.3. Cam-Assisted Blocking
When the climber falls or weights the rope, the cam in the device automatically cinches down to arrest the rope. This cam-assisted blocking ensures a comfortable belay. Always be prepared to manually engage the brake-side rope.
4.4. Anti-Panic Handle and Lowering
The anti-panic function engages if the user pulls too hard on the handle during lowering, stopping the climber's descent. This feature is particularly beneficial for new belayers or when there are significant weight differences between the climber and belayer. To lower a climber, gradually pull the handle to release the cam, controlling the descent speed with your brake-side hand. If the anti-panic function engages, release the handle completely and then re-engage it more gently.
