The SUNPOW Pinpointer features two alarm modes to indicate metal detection:
- Sound + Vibration Mode: This is the default mode. When metal is detected, the device will emit an audible beep and vibrate simultaneously. The frequency of the beeps and vibrations increases as you get closer to the target.
- Vibration Only Mode: To switch to vibration-only mode, quickly press the One-Touch Switch once while the device is on. This mode is useful for discreet searching or in noisy environments.
- To switch back to Sound + Vibration mode, quickly press the One-Touch Switch once again.

Using the Pinpointer
- Once your main metal detector has located a general area of interest, use the pinpointer to narrow down the exact location of the target.
- Hold the pinpointer with the detection probe pointed towards the ground or the excavated soil.
- Slowly sweep the probe over the suspected area. The 360-degree detection capability allows for comprehensive scanning.
- Listen for the audio alerts or feel the vibrations. As you get closer to the metal object, the alarm intensity will increase.
- The pinpointer can detect various metals including gold, silver, copper, nickel, zinc, aluminum, tin, and platinum alloys.
