After conducting a thorough review, we have identified a potential error that may affect the performance and could potentially damage the binding out in the field. Over engaging the tech toe for uphill travel will add unnecessary stress to the binding and can break it. Please read the following usage tips to help you avoid damaging your bindings. Please read the following tips. They are meant to help you properly use the bindings and prevent potential issues or damage when out in the field. Many (not all) of the warranty submissions we receive are from user error.

TECH TOE ENGAGEMENT – Our tech toe, like others, is designed with five ‘clicks’ to accommodate for tech insert wear. To engage your boot, pull up on the front lever so here is no play between the pins and insert, but no more. You likely only have to go to the first or second click. Engaging the toe more than necessary puts a lot of stress on the tech toe components and can increase the chance of failure in the field. Furthermore, when touring in avalanche terrain it is always best to have the tech toe engaged as little as possible while still being snug. This will allow for the best chance of your ski releasing it you are caught in a slide. It will also make it easier tc ep out of the bindings while transitioning.

TECH TOE DISENGAGEMENT – Stepping out of the tech toe is best done using your hands which gives the least chance of potentially breaking the front lock lever. If you ant to use your other ski, boot, or pole, make sure you are pressing the lever forward. If you simply step straight down on the lever there is a decent chance you will break the plastic lever.

BRAKE LOCK ENGAGEMENT – For proper brake lock engagement it is best to use your hands. Make sure all snow and ice is cleared off the top of the Pivot brake pad. Pull up on the brakes as you press the brake lock into place. You can then press on the front of the Pivot brake pad as you press the brake lock (shown). You should hear or feel the lock snap into place.

BRAKE LOCK DISENGAGEMENT – To disengage the brake lock, simply pull up and in on both of the brake levers (ski stoppers). This puts the least amount of stress on the mechanism and is the easiest.

TOE SWAP INTERFACE – Weve made the toe change interface as simple as possible for better ease of use and reduce icing. To put both the Alpine and Tech toe on halfway from the back as shown and slide forward into place. Make sure the button pops up fully.

To take the toe pieces off, fully depress the button then slide back until it stops. Then pull the toe piece up and off.
